Baking Sheet
Purpose
A flat, rectangular metal tray used for roasting vegetables, baking cookies, toasting nuts, and sheet pan dinners. The rimmed edges prevent juices and oils from dripping into the oven.
Usage
Line with parchment paper or a silicone mat for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking. Preheat in the oven for crispier results on roasted vegetables. Don't overcrowd — leave space between items for air circulation and browning. Use the lower third of the oven for better bottom browning.
Buying Guide
Half-sheet pans (46×33cm) are the standard. Choose heavy-gauge aluminum — it won't warp under high heat. Light-colored pans are better for baking (less burning); darker pans for roasting. Get at least two. Avoid insulated or non-stick versions for most tasks.
