Kitchen Scale
Purpose
The most important measuring tool for consistent cooking and baking. Weight is more accurate and repeatable than volume measurements — 100g of flour is always 100g, but a 'cup' varies wildly depending on how you scoop.
Usage
Place bowl on scale, press tare/zero, then add ingredients. Use grams for precision. Tare between each ingredient to measure multiple items into the same bowl. Keep away from water and heat sources.
Buying Guide
Must have: gram resolution (1g or 0.1g), tare function, 5kg+ capacity. A pull-out display is helpful when using large bowls. Avoid scales that auto-off too quickly — it's frustrating mid-recipe. Rechargeable battery is a plus.
